Flooring with style to match the interior design of seating areas and a coffee corner

Assignment and requirements
In the Antwerp Tower in Belgium, the lounge area and coffee station needed a flooring that was optimally adapted to the respective type of use.
A certain degree of mechanical resistance was required, given the constant flow of visitors. Cleanability also played an important role, as did hygiene – particularly in the coffee kitchen with food contact. In addition, the gloss level of the top sealer had to be permanently stable.
Particularities and challenges
The coffee corner, with its white furniture, is visually accentuated by the sepia-brown coating, that is reminiscent of the colour of coffee beans: it clearly demarcates the floor surface around the counter.
The beige seating area and steps leading to it are also designed to blend in with the surrounding interior.
The solution
Our self-leveller KLB-SYSTEM POLYURETHAN PU 405 has been used in both areas. This elastified coating ensures comfortable walking and a floor that is easy on the ankles. With its good workability and optimised flow properties, a uniform surface appearance can be achieved.
The subsequent glossy top sealer KLB-SYSTEM POLYURETHAN PU 484 is perfectly suited for areas with heavy foot traffic, while at the same time being hygienic and easy to clean.
