Epoxy resin industrial flooring for production facilities
Refurbishment of an old production and assembly hall.
Assignment and requirements
In the Augsburg Industrial Park, the original subfloor condition was oil-contaminated, partly cracked and consisted of worn existing coatings or partly new and old concrete. In order to be able to use the hall adequately again, a new synthetic resin coating was required.
Particularities and challenges
The floor covering should not have any difficulties in the long run when being driven over by industrial trucks, warehousing work or the use of heavy machinery. A new coating promises a long service life and, above all, cost-effectiveness at the time of purchase.
The solution
KLB-SYSTEM EPOXID EP 5530 is particularly suitable as an economical primer for such mechanically resilient coverings. EP 216 Universal can be used both as a scratch coat and – when filled with quartz sand KLB-Quarzsand 0.3/0.8 mm – as subsequent top coat for the industrial floor. This build-up is also suitable for the requirements of a surface protection system based on OS 8, alternatively with the primer KLB-SYSTEM EPOXID EP 5520 (see system K1 KLB PARKING OS 8).
The applied coating is characterised by high robustness and stability. A tested slip resistance as well as mechanical load-bearing capacity, e.g. from heavy machinery or the use of forklift trucks, can be guaranteed.
