Industrial floor coating for a showroom
Special system for the presentation of Multivac machines.
Assignment and requirements
In the showroom of Multivac, a company specialising in packaging machines, heavy public traffic and the assembly or disassembly of machines for exhibition purposes are part of every day. Therefore, the flooring had to be able to withstand high mechanical stresses.
As the machines on display had to be presented in the best possible light, requirements were also placed on the visual appearance of the industrial floor. Resistance to chemicals was necessary to ensure a certain ease of cleaning.
Particularities and challenges
This means that the showroom is not only a presentation and sales area for machines, but also a stage for a variety of challenges to the flooring: due to regular visitors, it should provide safe and comfortable walking, which is ensured by the anti-slip properties of the scattered coating.
The surface withstands light to medium loads and is resistant to liquids that may flow out of the machines in certain cases.
The solution
Within this build-up, the primer KLB-SYSTEM EPOXID EP 50 is followed by a crack-bridging waterproofing layer made of KLB-SYSTEM POLYURETHAN PU 426, which is necessary for effectively sealing the substrate against chemicals.
By fully scattering the supporting layer KLB-SYSTEM POLYURETHAN PU 421 with KLB coloured sand CQS-46xx, a slip resistance grade of R10 to R12 is achieved, which allows customers to walk on it safely.
Last but not least, the transparent and glossy top sealer KLB-SYSTEM EPOXID EP 172 ensures a permanently appealing look. This special system creates a visually attractive and hard-wearing floor covering that can withstand the stresses and strains that occur in such industrial environments.
