A car workshop fitted with a robust but visually appealing epoxy resin floor

Assignment and requirements
A colour-coordinated overall concept had to be designed for the company Karosserie Eisemann GmbH. As large windows allow to see the workshop area from the reception, the task was to combine a robust epoxy resin coating with a high-quality look – while also fulfilling the technical standards.
Particularities and challenges
Floors in car workshops have to withstand both chemical and mechanical loads. This project required a system that would also convince through an aesthetically pleasing surface, which could be achieved by scattering with partiColor® chips. The abrasion resistance of the surface was to be optimised with a matt sealer.
The solution
System A5 KLB INDUSTRIAL EP RX Robust has good mechanical resistance and is impervious to water, saline solutions, alkalis, mineral oils and fuels, as well as to various solvents. It is also well suited for higher optical demands by scattering the surface with partiColor® chips. The matt sealing with KLB-SYSTEM EPOXID EP 860 further increases the chemical stability of the system.
