Long-term protection of the building fabric in the parking garage of spa hotel My Arbor.
Assignment and requirements
The surface protection system in the underground car park of the My Arbor Wellness Hotel must not only withstand the heavy mechanical loads caused by cars, but also ensure safe manoeuvring and pedestrian traffic.
That’s why it was essential to install a suitable flooring with the right degree of slip resistance.
Particularities and challenges
An underground parking may seem like a protected indoor area, but it nevertheless faces unique challenges: penetrating chemical substances such as engine oil, de-icing salt or fuel are spilt onto the floor as cars drive in and out. To protect the building structure from such, the coating must be resistant to chemicals and impervious to liquids.
It should also meet the hotel’s special aesthetic requirements and match its colour concept.
The solution
The installed OS 8 coating K1 KLB PARKING EP OS 8 is a highly resistant surface protection system for mechanically heavily loaded interior areas. With a slip resistance level of R11, the surface provides the necessary safety for all road users. In addition, the flooring fulfils the requirements of the TR maintenance directive.
The surface protection system also offers the option of an individual colour design. In line with the customer’s wishes, a special green colour was chosen here.
