Assignment and requirements

A hard-wearing and easy-to-clean floor covering is particularly required for event venues, which are sometimes subject to heavy mechanical loads due to public traffic. Since rooms for festivities are chosen primarily for their overall impression, the coating should match the location’s holistic design concept. In addition, it has to be low-pollutant to provide good indoor air quality.

Particularities and challenges

Thus, it was the challenge to lay a coating system over the entire venue that would be suitable for parties and the demands of the celebrating guests. On one hand, it had to be ensured that the covering could withstand mechanical stress. Considering the excessive use of the area as dance floor, it must be able to stand firm without any problems as well as be easy and uncomplicated to clean afterwards. On the other hand, the visual impression and along with it, a high-quality finish were important design criteria – just as much as low emission values for recreation rooms.

The solution

The “Alte Mühle” was therefore coated with System G2 INDUSTRIAL LOW-VOC PU Sealed, which not only embodies a noble design but also compensates for the above-average stress on the surface of the dance area. The floor covering retains its as-new appearance over a long period of time and is particularly economical in this field of application. The jointless design also facilitates cleaning after events.

Beyond that, the applied matt sealer is abrasion-resistant and makes the floor less susceptible to stains, offering a clean surface for many more celebrations. Due to its colour stability, the coating also permanently withstands sunlight.
