Surface protection for walls and concrete elements in (underground) parking garages – using OS 5b Wall.

Our new and innovative K8 KLB PARKING OS 5b Wall has been developed for special protection of vertical surfaces, e.g. walls, skirting, plinths or other rising elements in multi-storey and underground car parks. It effectively protects against the penetration of chemical substances (especially chloride) caused by water splashes from passing vehicles.

It can be used both indoors and outdoors on weather-exposed open car park decks. The wall coating also enables a permanent colour concept to be implemented on rising components for better orientation inside the car park.

Complies with strict requirements:

The wall coating has been developed in accordance with the requirements of the Technical Rule maintenance of concrete buildings (in short: TR maintenance, update 2020) and the RiLi SIB (DAfStb, 2001) based on OS 5b. In this way, it ensures special protection of the underlying building substrate, particularly in wall or plinth areas. Proof of suitability as surface protection system is provided on the basis of DIN EN 1504-2.

 

Highest quality for long-term corrosion protection on walls:

The polymer-modified composition enables a static and dynamic crack-bridging. Even under demanding conditions, e.g. with rapid temperature changes on the building surface in summer and winter, the elasticised, cold-flexible setting ensures a long-term intact coating and a high degree of protection.

With a layer thickness of 2.0 mm (in cured state), plus the surcharge for roughness depth, the system protects against the penetration of frost, de-icing salt or water. It also inhibits the diffusion of carbon dioxide into the building; therefore preserving the concrete structure and minimising corrosion damage.

 

Excellent workability with a single product:

The stable consistency of our product KLB-SYSTEM POLYMER EC 5610 + makes it easy and efficient to apply exactly the layer thickness required for an OS 5 system. Thanks to the system’s coordinated components, it is possible to achieve a “seamless and tight” application on walls and floors.
