Jointless design flooring for a hair salon

Unique floor finish with company logo.

Assignment and requirements

Prerequisite for the new flooring in a hair salon was being easy to maintain and hard-wearing. Due to the daily mechanical stress caused by customers’ shoes and the movement of hairdressing chairs, a robust floor covering was needed that could fulfil exactly these requirements.

Particularities and challenges

A reactive resin flooring was chosen because of its seamless installation, which allows for uncomplicated cleaning, as is essential in a hair and beauty salon. In addition, this choice opens up numerous options for individual floor design.

Good colour stability was necessary to ensure that the floor’s appearance would remain unchanged despite exposure to direct sunlight.

The solution

Our G7 KLB DECOR LOW-VOC PU Light Sealed system is perfectly suited for interior areas that require a heavy duty, yet optically appealing flooring. The design coating retains its attractive look over the long term thanks to the stable white colour tone.

The hairdresser’s company logo has been brought into the floor. A unique visual effect is created by taping the contours and scattering partiColor® glitter particles in light gold onto the freshly applied resin. These particles, which are around 1 mm in size, allow for a highly decorative sparkling effect.

The subsequent top sealer unlike the build-up of system G7 using KLB-SYSTEM POLYURETHAN PU 882 gives the floor a silky-gloss finish and makes it particularly easy to care for. The jointless application facilitates cleaning after each haircutting session.
